Citroen's head of design, Pierre Leclercq, stated that the Basalt will complement the C3 and C3 Aircross in India. The standout feature of this iconic model is its sloping roofline, reminiscent of the C4.

The Basalt boasts a coupe design that gives it a sporty appearance. The roofline extends to the trunk lid, and the car features a large tailgate. The robust fender and geometric wheel arch shape add to its appeal. The car’s logo, paired with the light signature, enhances its aesthetic. The front grille features a 3D effect, and there is a connecting tailgate.
