The latest adjustment sees the ZXi+ variant experiencing the highest increase, with prices rising by Rs 39,000 for the manual version. In contrast, the VXi, VXi AMT, and VXi CNG variants witness a more modest hike of Rs 15,000. Overall, prices for various Swift models have been raised by Rs 25,000.

Consistency in design and powertrain

Despite the price revision, there are no alterations in the visual or mechanical aspects of the Maruti Swift. It continues to be powered by the reliable 90hp, 113Nm, 1.2-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine, available with either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT gearbox.

Limited duration for price adjustment

The increased prices for the current-generation Swift are expected to remain in effect for approximately a month, aligning with the scheduled launch of the next-generation model in mid-May 2024. It's a common practice among car manufacturers to adjust prices of outgoing models before the introduction of newer versions.

Anticipated launch of next-gen Swift

Maruti Swift's forthcoming iteration is poised to be one of the marque's significant launches in 2024. Following its debut, attention will shift to the all-new Dzire compact sedan later in the year. Codenamed "YED," the new Swift is set to boast a fresh yet recognizable design, an updated interior, and a brand-new 1.2-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine.

Enhanced features and safety

Among the anticipated upgrades, the next-gen Swift will feature a larger 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless connectivity for both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Additionally, it is expected to offer enhanced safety with the inclusion of six airbags, likely as a standard feature across the range.

Price strategy for next-gen model

With the impending launch, there is speculation regarding the pricing strategy for the new Swift. It remains to be seen whether Maruti will maintain the current price range or opt for a higher pricing tier for the upgraded model.
