BYD Atto 3 Launch: BYD Automotive Company is all set to launch its new electric vehicle BYD Atto 3 in the Indian market. BYD's sport utility vehicle (SUV) will be launched in the country on Tuesday, October 11. 

According to the company, this car will be India's first "sporty Born e SUV".

Ahead of the launch, the company has shared several teaser videos on its social media accounts. The latest sneak peek teaser shared on Instagram revealed the exterior styling of the upcoming SUV. The caption reads "Only 1 day to go for the launch of the BYD-ATTO 3 India's First Sporty Born E SUV, launching on 11th October 2022."

According to the company, the upcoming BYD Atto 3 is capable to accelerate 0-100 km/h in 7.3 seconds. The Dragon Face 3.0 integrates an electric and futuristic design into the car. Also, e-Platform 3.0 is a highly integrated platform exclusively designed for BORN EVs, the company said.

"The Vehicle to Load mobile power station function allows the vehicle to be transformed into a super mobile power bank, which supports power up to 3.3kW, satisfying most high-power electrical appliances," the company claimed.

Also, the BYD Atto 3 will be the second electric offering from Chinese carmaker in the country after e6 MPV.

Recently, BYD India Private Ltd announced that they are targeting sales of 15,000 units next year. They will also increase the distribution network and expand production capacity if needed, said a senior official.

BYD India is a wholly owned subsidiary of Warren Buffet`s Berkshire Hathaway funded Chinese company BYD Auto.

"If need be we will expand the capacity," Sanjay Gopalakrishnan, Senior Vice President of Electric Passenger Vehicle Business told IANS.

As per the government's vehicle registration data available on the Vahan portal, a total of 305 vehicles have been registered in 2022 and last month it was 63 units.
