Luxury carmaker BMW has launched all-new M cars, a BMW M2 Competition in India at a price starting at Rs 79.90 lakh. This two-seater sports coupe comes with an inline 6, 3-litre, twin-turbocharged engine which will make a whopping 405 bhp of peak power and 550 Nm of rear torque. All of these goes to the rear wheels, said a ndtv.com report.
 
The successor to the legendary E30 M3 of the 1980s, M2 is the reportedly the smallest M car by BMW. Initially, the new BMW M2 Competition is internationally available with a manual gearbox, but it will get the 7-speed dual clutch gearbox in India.
 
The car can go up to 0-100 kmph in just 2-seconds with a top speed upwards of 250 kmph, the report said.
 
There would be a few optional extras for the car available in the country and that would include M2 Sports Seats, premium infotainment audio system and the essential Apple CarPlay. The car also comes with 50-50 weight distribution and the short wheelbase rear wheel drive chassis.
 
The report further said that M2 Competition is the most affordable M car in the world and also in India. Coming to price aspect, at present M2 Competition has no other competition that offers similar levels of performance with the exception of the Mercedes-AMG CLA45, which of course is a 4-door sedan.
