Bajaj Auto on Wednesday reported total sales — comprising two-wheelers and commercial vehicles (CVs) — of 1,53,291 vehicles in the domestic market in February 2023, marking a jump of 36 per cent compared with the corresponding period a year ago.

Its total exports, however, fell 37.6 per cent on a year-on-year basis to 1,26,935 vehicles, according to a company statement. 

Sales of Bajaj Auto two-wheelers in the domestic market increased 24.7 per cent to 1,20,335 units, the company said. Two-wheeler exports, however, fell 37.1 per cent to 1,15,021 vehicles, it said. 

Sales of commercial vehicles in the domestic market more than doubled to 32,956 last month compared with 16,224 in February 2022.

What Bajaj Auto management said

"Bajaj Auto entered Brazil, its 86th market, in December 2022," Bajaj Auto Executive Director Rakesh Sharma told Zee Business. The company's average growth stands at around 10-12 per cent, he said. 

"Bajaj Auto will present a new product every 1-2 months, and will launch an electric vehicle tomorrow (Thursday)," Sharma said. 

The company has fully upgraded its Pulsar brand, he said.

Bajaj Auto sales from April 2022 to February 2023

The company reported total domestic sales of 19,20,095 two-wheelers and CVs in the first 11 months of the current financial year, up 14.6 per cent compared with the year-ago period.

Its exports, however, fell 26.5 per cent to 17,16,195 vehicles in the 11-month period, according to the statement. 

Bajaj Auto shares rose by more than Rs 40 or 1.1 per cent to Rs 3,701 apiece on BSE after the release of the sales report.
