Ashok Leyland September vehicles sales: Auto sales surge 12%, Medium and Heavy Commercial Vehicles segment sees 39% growth

Hinduja group flagship company Ashok Leyland on Friday reported 12 per cent increase in total vehicles sales at 8787 units in September.
The company had sold 4529 units in the Medium and Heavy Commercial Vehicles segment (M&HCV) in September, registering a growth of 39 per cent. It sold 3268 units in the same segment in the same month last year, Ashok Leyland said in a regulatory filing.
The company had sold 4258 units in the Light Commercial Vehicles (LCV) segment in September, recording a rise of 7 per cent. It sold 4567 units in the same segment in the same month last year, Ashok Leyland said in a regulatory filing.
Total domestic vehicles sales, which include the Medium and Heavy Commercial Vehicles and Light Commercial Vehicles segments, stood at 8787 units, against 7835 units in the same month last year, reporting an increase of 12 per cent, Ashok Leyland said in a regulatory filing.
The Medium and heavy commercial vehicles (M&HCV) sales in domestic and exports were up by 39 per cent at 5060 units last month, as compared to 3630 units in the year-ago month, it added.
Light commercial vehicle sales last month stood at 4473 units as compared to 4702 units in March 2019, up by 5 per cent, the company said.
The total vehicles sale including the Medium and Heavy Commercial Vehicles and Light Commercial Vehicles segments stood at 9533, against 8332, a surge of 14 per cent.
