  • Yamaha 2024 MT-09: Design

2024 MT-09 introduces a radical design, reminiscent of a motorcycle from a science fiction movie. The bike showcases a sleek, petite headlamp, accompanied by low-lying LED daytime running light strips. Its angular and robust fuel tank pairs with a notably compact tail section.

Enhancing its visual appeal is a new five-inch colour TFT display that offers smartphone connectivity and navigation. The bike's features also include three preset riding modes, two customisable modes, standard cruise control, and self-cancelling turn indicators.

Changes in MT-09 primarily revolve around its hardware. The KYB suspension system, both front and rear, has been fine-tuned concerning spring rate and damping. Additionally, new Brembo brakes have been optimised to deliver improved bite and lever feedback.

The motorcycle rides on 17-inch spin-forged aluminium wheels equipped with new Bridgestone Battlax Hypersport S23 tyres. The engine, maintaining its status quo, remains the 890cc, CP3, three-cylinder, liquid-cooled powertrain, generating 117.3bhp at 10,000rpm and a peak torque of 93Nm at 7,000rpm.

  • Yamaha 2024 MT-09: India Launch

Regarding the bike's availability in India, Yamaha's leadership has indicated an interest in introducing larger bikes to the Indian market.

Although a definite timeline has not been disclosed, it is speculated that MT-07 may be launched first, followed by the introduction of MT-09, likely in the coming year.
