Noida Twin Towers demolition: Who will press the final button on August 28?
Chetan said that demolition is a simple process. The current is generated from the dynamo and then a button is pressed which will ignite the detonators in all shock tubes within 9 seconds.
The stage is set for the demolition of Noida's Twin Towers on August 28. All the preparations are in place to bring down the illegally constructed towers -- taller than the Qutub Minar, by Supertech in Sector 93A. The towers -- Apex and Ceyane -- will be brought down in just 9 seconds with the press of a button.
As the doomsday for Twin Towers approaches, we will tell you who will be the person to press the final button.
Chetan Dutta, the famous Indian blaster, will press the button that will demolish the 40-storey Supertech Twin Towers in Sector 93A. Demolition of tall buildings is not a new thing. But what has created a buzz, in this case, is that the two illegally constructed towers are just 10 metres away from their residential buildings in the vicinity.
Chetan said that demolition is a simple process. The current is generated from the dynamo and then a button is pressed which will ignite the detonators in all shock tubes within 9 seconds.
"We'll be almost 50-70m away from the building, there will be no danger and we are very much sure that the building will collapse in a proper way... blasting area is covered with four layers of iron mesh and two layers of blanket, so no rubble will fly past but dust may," he said, news agency ANI reported.
The demolition team tasked to bring down the illegally constructed high-rises have drilled 9,642 holes on the pillars of the buildings in which explosives have been stuffed.
The pillars, after being covered properly to prevent spillage of the explosive materials, have been connected to one another through wires that would lead to synchronised blasts. Experts have chosen plastic explosives of a variety used in the civilian sector for heavy-duty blasting and not military-grade products, news agency IANS reported.
The gap between each blast would be of micro-seconds as the entire structure would be brought down in 4-5 seconds while the explosion would last at least 9 seconds.
