Petrol, Diesel Price – The outlook for crude oil remains positive globally and is expected to take a rise, Expert Anuj Gupta, Vice President (VP), Commodity and Currency Research at IIFL Securities opines. He had told that the prices would increase in the near term that may have an impact of petrol and diesel. While the near term targets given by Gupta for Brent Crude and WTI have almost been achieved, there is a further upside because of Global demand picking up now.
Oil prices steadied on Tuesday as broad hopes for a demand recovery persisted, fueled by comments from OPEC`s secretary general, slightly overshadowing travel curbs due to new outbreaks of the highly contagious Delta variant of the coronavirus, Reuters reported.
Brent crude futures settled up 8 cents, or 0.1 per cent, at USD 74.76 a barrel, having slumped by 2 per cent on Monday. US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures settled up 7 cents, or 0.1 per cent, at USD 72.98 a barrel, after a 1.5 per cent retreat on Monday.
The petrol prices have surpassed the Rs 100 mark in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Ladakh, Karnataka, Jammu and Kashmir (J&K), Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Bihar and Kerala.
