Vivo V30 Pro Review: Vivo V30 Pro is a slim smartphone despite having a 5,000mAh battery. It is only 7.45mm thick and offers a great in-hand feel.
Vivo V30 Pro Review: Vivo has become synonymous with offering smartphones with good cameras. Among all the Series offered by Vivo, the V Series is especially known for offering value-for-money devices with the best possible camera setup. The company has now launched Vivo V30 Series - the successor to Vivo V29. The Vivo V30 Series has two smartphones - Vivo V30 and V30 Pro. While the V30 Series carry forward the slim form factor, the triple camera setup of the V30 Pro comes with quite a notable upgrade. The Vivo V30 Pro comes with a 50MP triple camera and marks the entry of Zeiss-tuned cameras - which so far has been available in more premium X Series. Also, it now comes with a much bigger Aura Light. Are these upgrades worth the price? Let's find out in the review.

Vivo V30 Pro Review: Design
Vivo V30 Pro is a slim smartphone despite having a 5,000mAh battery. It is only 7.45mm thick and offers a great in-hand feel. According to the company, this is the slimmest phone with a 5,000mAh battery this year. This is enhanced by a 3D Curved display. The smartphone weighs just 188 grams and this ensures that you can easily hold the device for a longer time.
At the back, you will get glass but it feels soft. The black colour variant looks premium and the back shines under the sunlight. The best thing about the design is that it doesn't attract fingerprints and smudges.
As there is a lot of focus on durability these days, Vivo has made some subtle changes to prevent the device from damage. The Vivo V30 Pro comes with customised aluminium alloy at the corners along with a wider middle frame and elevated bottom metal edge. However, it just has an IP54 certification.
Vivo V30 Pro Review: Display
The Vivo V30 Pro has a 6.78-inch FHD+ AMOLED display. The 3D curved display offers a refresh rate of 120Hz that makes scrolling on social media super smooth. It offers a peak brightness of 2800 nits, making the screen bright enough to use even under direct sunlight. It also delivers punchy colours and content consumption is fun on this device. However, providing stereo speakers would have made things much better.
Vivo V30 Pro Review: Performance and Software
The smartphone is powered by MediaTek Dimensity 8200, the same used in its predecessor. During my usage, the device offers a lag-free experience. I even tried playing games like Asphalt 9 for a short duration and didn't notice any frame drop.

Vivo V30 Pro Review: Camera
The camera is what separates the Vivo V30 Pro from other smartphones. It not only boasts Zeiss superpowers but comes with the smart Aura Light - bigger than its predecessor - which comes in handy when clicking images in complex lighting conditions.
The triple-camera setup with a square Smart Aura Light looks unique. The smartphone has a 50MP main camera with OIS, a 50MP telephoto lens and a 50MP ultra-wide angle camera. It is worth mentioning that its predecessor had a 50MP+12MP+8MP setup.
The 50MP Sony IMX920 is the largest sensor in the V series and the results are quite visible. The camera captures good images in both daylight and low-light conditions. Images have a good dynamic range with a lot of details.
The 50MP ultra-wide cameras, the highest in its price range, of the Vivo V30 too capture good images.
The smartphone has a 50MP Sony IMX816 sensor to click portrait images. This is the real showstopper as it captures some great images, especially with Zeiss style portrait. However, edge detection needs to be more precise.
Even in low light, the Aura Light allows better alignment with the surrounding environment and lets you click good images. The Aura Light of Vivo V30 is 19 times larger and 50 times softer than its predecessor. Also, the Aura Light intelligently adjust light intensity by detecting real-time portrait distances. This feature is very beneficial and lets you click good images effortlessly. There’s a 50MP front camera as well that clicks good selfies.
Vivo V30 Pro Review: Battery and Charging
The Vivo V30 Pro has a 5,000mAh battery and supports 80W charging. The smartphone offers good battery backup and in case you run out of juice, the smartphone can be charged from zero to 100 per cent in less than an hour.
Vivo V30 Pro Review: Verdict
There is hardly anything to gripe about when it comes to the camera of the Vivo V30 Pro. It offers the best camera setup in its price range. However, some buyers may find this device overpriced as it doesn't come with the latest chipset and has just one bottom-firing speaker with only an IP54 rating.
