Xiaomi launches Redmi 5A 2GB at Rs 4,999; first on sale on Flipkart on December 7
More affordable smartphones pour into the market with Xiaomi releasing its Redmi 5A in India as - The smartphone for everyone.

Chinese smartphone company, Xiaomi, on Thursday unveiled a ‘Desh ka smartphone’ on its website. The Redmi 5A has been priced at Rs 4,999.
Released with the tagline ‘The smartphone for everyone,’ the Redmi 5A competes in the likes of other affordable smartphones released this year such as – Karbonn’s A40 Indian and the JioPhone.
The Redmi 5A has a 12.7 cm HD display and comes with a 13 megapixel rear camera with PDAF. It also packs a 3000mAh battery and runs on quad-core Snapdragon 425 processor.
The smartphone supports a dual SIM plus dedicated microSD slot. It has a 2 GB RAM, 16 GB ROM which is expandable up to 128 GB.
The phone will be available in two colour options – grey and gold.
Redmi 5A will be a Flipkart exclusive along with being available on the company’s official website – mi.com.
First sale of the phone will be held on December 7 from 12 noon onwards. Interested customers can also avail an extra 5% off on payment with Axis bank buzz credit cards.
Flipkart is also offering 10% off on purchase of fashion merchandise with their partners – Retail Net, Omnitech Retail, Treucom retail, WS Retail, Supercom Net.
However the offer is only available to first-time mobile purchaser on Flipkart platform.
