Uber expands 'Dial an Uber' feature to 29 cities in India

An online taxi-hailing app Uber on Tuesday announced expansion of its 'Dial an Uber' feature to all 29 cities where it currently operates in India. 

With the new feature, everyone can have access to its reliable low-cost car ride booking category 'UberGo' even if they don't have the Uber app downloaded on their mobile devices, cited the company in a press release.

"'Dial an Uber' offers a convenient choice to customers looking to book a ride and is testament to our focus on using our technological edge to make mobility reliable and accessible for everyone,” Uber India head of engineering Apurva Dalal, said in a statement.

Users can now request 'UberGo' rides from their mobile phone browsers and the service is available even in areas with low or poor network connectivitiy. The 'Dial an Uber' service presently supports only cash payment. 

The US-based Uber had first rolled out this feature in four Indian cities namely Nagpur, Kochi, Guwahati, and Jodhpur.

In order to avail the service -- users can navigate to dial.uber.com on mobile phone browser, enter their phone number to quickly login or sign-up, view pricing information, get a fare estimate, and request for their ride with a single tap.

 After requesting, users can instantly get connected with driver over call to co-ordinate pickup and once the trip is completed, users can pay driver in cash.
