UIDAI discontinues Aadhaar Reprint service, here is what you can do
The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), which is the central authority of Aadhaar, has decided to discontinue the Aadhaar Reprint service. The information was provided via the official Aadhaar Help Centre Twitter handle.
Aadhaar card is one of the most important identification documents as it is required for any government or official work done. Due to the coronavirus pandemic several services related to Aadhaar can be availed online.

While replying to a user's query Aadhaar Help Centre tweeted "Dear Resident, Order Aadhaar Reprint service has been discontinued, you can order Aadhaar PVC card online, instead. You can also take a print of your e-Aadhaar if you wish to keep it in a flexible paper format."

People can note that the UIDAI has recently introduced new waterproof and durable PVC Aadhaar cards in card form similar to ATM cards. These PVC Aadhaar cards are also easier to carry. Also, you will have to pay a fee of Rs 50 to get the PVC Aadhaar card.
Those who want to apply for the PVC Aadhaar card can follow the below-mentioned steps:
Step 1: Visit the official UIDAI website by clicking on the link- uidai.gov.in or resident.uidai.gov.in and order your Aadhaar card.
Step 2: Go to My Aadhaar section and click on ‘Order Aadhaar PVC card'.
Step 3: Provide your Aadhaar card number, virtual ID number, and your registration number.
Step 4: Next, verify your details with an OTP verification.
Step 5: Pay a minimal fee of Rs 50 to order your card.
Step 6: The card will be delivered to your home via Speed Post within four to five days.
People who do not have their mobile number linked with the Aadhaar can also apply for the PVC Aadhar card.
