Stocks to Track on May 30, Stocks in News: At 8:04 am Gift Nifty traded weak by 0.43 per cent or 96.8 points at 22,647, indicating a subdued opening on the expiry day. A bunch of stocks will be in focus on Dalal Street on Thursday including Tata Steel (TATASTEEL), SBI, and Apollo Hospitals Enterprise (APOLLOHOSP), a day after domestic equity benchmarks Sensex and Nifty50 slumped about 0.8-0.9 per cent amid a broad-based sell-off led by financial, energy and IT shares. The Sensex 667.6 points to end at 74,502.9 while the Nifty50 settled at 22,704.7, down 183.5 points for the day. At these levels, the indices have retreated about two per cent from their all-time highs registered this week.
Stocks such as Bharat Dynamics Ltd (BDL), Muthoot Finance (MUTHOOTFIN), PC Jeweller (PCJEWELLER), Praj Industries (PRAJIND), Rajesh Exports (RAJESHEXPO), and Godfrey Phillips (GODFRYPHLP), with the companies scheduled to report their financial results on Thursday.
With the earnings season largely behind, all eyes are on the outcome of a six-week-long polling process due on June 4 for domestic cues.
Nearly 900 companies scheduled to report financial results on May 30
Close to 900 companies are all set to report their financial numbers for the quarter as well as the year ended March 31 on Thursday, May 30, including Apollo Hospitals Enterprise, Bharat Dynamics, Godfrey Phillips, Muthoot Finance, PC Jeweller , Marksans Pharma, Praj Industries, Rajesh Exports, Sunteck Realty, Swan Energy, Yatra Online, Tarsons Products, and Gateway Distriparks.
Tata Steel Q4 profit, revenue miss Street expectations
Tata Steel has registered a 644.1 per cent year-on-year fall in its consolidated net profit to Rs 611.5 crore for the quarter ended March 31. The alloy maker's quarterly revenue stood at Rs 58,687.3 crore as against Rs 62,961.5 crore a year ago, according to a regulatory filing.
According to Zee Business research, Tata Steel's fourth-quarter consolidated net profit was estimated at Rs 1,354 crore and revenue at Rs 61,096 crore.
Tata Steel's board recommended a dividend of Rs 3.6 per equity share for FY24.
