Share Market News July 18: At around 8:11 am, GIFT Nifty futures traded lower by 0.01 per cent or 1.95 points at 24,642.5, indicating a muted to subdued opening on the D-Street today. Domestic equity benchmarks Nifty50 and Sensex scaled record closing highs on Tuesday, led by FMCG and IT shares although losses in energy stocks kept the upside in check. Stock exchanges BSE and NSE remained shut the next day for a mid-week market holiday on account of Muharram. Asian Paints Q1 results fall short of Street estimates
Asian Paints has reported a weaker-than-expected set of quarterly numbers.
While its revenue declined about two per cent to Rs 8,970 crore, its net profit decreased by about one-fourth to Rs 1,187 crore and margin contracted by 420 bps to 18.9 per cent for the June quarter.
According to Zee Business research, the paintmaker's first-quarter net profit was estimated at Rs 1,411 crore, revenue at Rs 9,096 crore, and margin at 21 per cent.
LTIMindtree Q1 PAT up 3.1% vs Q4
LTIMindtree has logged a 3.1 per cent sequential increase in its consolidated net profit to Rs 1,134 crore with a margin of 15.0 per cent for the June quarter.
According to Zee Business research, the IT firm was estimated to register a first-quarter net profit of Rs 1,200 crore and a margin of 15.5 per cent.
