Sensex opens in green, flirts with 26000-mark
Top gainers on BSE were - Larsen & Toubro at Rs 1377.50 (3.63%), followed by Tata Steel at Rs 385.10 (1.88%), Power Grid at Rs 187.05 (1.60%), Asian Paints at Rs 921.45 (1.55%) and Sun Pharma Industries at Rs 695.50 (0.83%).
Indian markets opened in green on Wednesday with BSE Sensex at over 26,000-mark. However, at 9.44 AM, Sensex was trading at 25,998.5, up 0.14%
NSE Nifty was at 8,016.95 up by 14.65 points or 0.18%.
BSE recorded 21 advances and 9 declines, whereas NSE had 35 advances and 16 declines.
Top gainers on BSE were - Larsen & Toubro at Rs 1377.50 (3.63%), followed by Tata Steel at Rs 385.10 (1.88%), Power Grid at Rs 187.05 (1.60%), Asian Paints at Rs 921.45 (1.55%) and Sun Pharma Industries at Rs 695.50 (0.83%).
Major losers were – NTPC, Gail India, Wipro, Maruti Suzuki and Dr Reddy’s Laboratories which were trading negative in the range of 0.30% - 0.90%.
Meanwhile, Bank Nifty was at 18,565.95, up by 17.30 points or 0.09%. Gainers on the index were – Canara Bank (Rs 304.95), Axis Bank (Rs 472.70), Yes Bank (Rs 1135.65) and Bank of India (Rs 117.50) trading in the range of 0.30% - 0.80%.
