Railway recruitment 2018: If you were busy with other things and could not apply for a position, don't worry, the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has extended the last date for submitting application. Candidates just need to log onto indianrailways.gov.in or rrbonlinereg.in to get latest news. Here too we reveal what has happened regarding the Railway jobs drive. Indian Railways has announced that the last date of submitting application, which was March 12 earlier, has been extended to March 31, 2018. The Railways notified the job vacancies on February 10, 2018, on its official website.
Here are some important dates:
• Applications starting date – February 10, 2018
• Last date of application – March 31, 2018
• Last date of online payment - March 31, 2018
• Last date of SBI challan – March 31, 2018
• Last date post office challan – March 29, 2018
• Exam Date – April/May 2018
Selection Process: Computer Based Test (CBT), Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Document Verification.
All the eligible candidates have to undergo a Computer Based Test on specified date, time and venue. All the details will be in e-call letter that one can download from the websites of RRBs.
Exam duration will be 90 minutes and candidates gave to attempt 100 questions. Candidates have to secure a minimum percentage of marks for eligibility in various categories: UR -40%, OBC-30%, SC-30%, ST-30%. These pass mark percentage may be relaxed 2% for PWD candidates in case of shortage candidates against vacancies reserved for them.
Indian Railways that conducts examinations every year across the country at various central and regional level to fill several vacancies for Indian Railways.
Group D jobs include Track Maintainer Grade IV (Trackman), Gateman, Points-man, Helpers in Electrical / Engineering / Mechanical / Signal and Telecommunication departments and Porters.
Educational qualification:
(1) 10th pass /Matriculation (or) ITI from institutions recognised by National Council of Vocational Training (NCVT) / SCVT or equivalent National Apprenticeship certificate (NAC) granted by NCVT or 10th pass plus National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by NCVT.
Those awaiting results of the prescribed educational/technical qualification will not be eligible apply.
Examination Fee: Rs 250 for SC / ST / ex-servicemen / PWDs / Female / Transgender / Minorities / Economically Backward Class Category Candidates. All other candidates including OBC category have to pay non-refundable fee of Rs 500. The exam fee can be made Online using internet banking or debit/credit cards. A candidate can also pay Offline through SBI Bank Challan or Post Office Challan.
