Income Tax filing made easy with Aaykar Setu; know everything about it

Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Monday had launched a new tax payer service module 'Aaykar Setu' in order to make income tax filing process more simpler. 

According to Ministry of Finance, the application is an e-initiative that will help taxpayer in  reducing the direct physical interface between assesses and tax assessing authorities. 

"The new step is an effort by the Income Tax Department (ITD) to directly communicate with the taxpayers, on a range of multiple informative and useful tax services aimed at providing tax information at their fingertips. The module compiles various tax tools, live chat facility, dynamic updates, and important links to various processes within the Income Tax Department in a single module," Jaitley said.

Planning to download it? Here's how you can do it:

1. You can download the application by giving a missed call on +91 – 7306 52 52 52. 
2. Once you give a miss call, Income Tax Department will send you an installation link.
3. You can dowload the app by simply clicking the link. 

You can also download the app  from Google Play Store available on Android phones. 

According to official PlayStore summary, the app has following features:

• Ask Income Tax experts
• A CHATBOT provides answer to the queries raised by taxpayers in no-time.
• Available on 24 X 7 basis 365 days;
• Unique functionality of keyword based search
• About TPS Vertical - Contains information about all the TPS offices across India. The taxpayer can locate the nearby TPS office through this feature;
• TRP at your doorstep – Now locate your nearest TRP in just a click. Taxpayers can get Name, Email ID, Contact Details of TRPs alongwith its location on Google Map;
• Tax Tools – Provides quick calculation on mere input of basic information available with a taxpayers;
• Return Preparation Made Easy, PAN/TAN, TDS/TRACES, Tax Payment– Provides filtered result based on users requirement. A user can apply for PAN, Pay Taxes, Submit Grievances from 'Aaykar Setu';
• Live Chat – In case users have any query they can use the Live Chat option. This facility will be available from Monday to Friday between 10AM to 6PM.
• Tax Gyaan – A game to enable the users to learn about Income Tax by just playing a game. It’s a Multiple Choice Question based game to provide knowledge to the users. The game is divided into 4 levels Beginner, Normal, Hard, and Difficult.
