BPCL's disinvestment process reaches second stage, MoS Finance Bhagwat Karad tells Rajya Sabha

The disinvestment process of oil marketing firm Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL) has reached the second stage. Bhagwat Karad, Minister of State for Finance gave that information in Rajya Sabha on Tuesday.
The transaction advisors informed that many Expressions of Interest (EoI) have been received regarding the transition of BPCL and now it is in the process of the second stage.
Negotiations are on with several potential buyers.
Since this is a confidential subject, not much information is given in the beginning.
According to the Ministry of Finance, many potential bidders have come forward and submitted expressions of interest. At the same time, the process of disinvestment of BPCL is going on in the second phase.
