Aadhaar card Face ID authentication from July 1; is it for you? Here are 5 power points to know

Come  July 1, Aadhaar card holders will be able to authenticate their identity and access services through 'Face ID'. The face recognition alongside iris or fingerprint scan  will help those who face issues in biometric authentication due to old age, hardwork or worn-out fingerprints, according to UIDAI. 
"Face authentication shall be available in fusion mode along with one more authentication factor like fingerprint/iris/OTP from July 1, 2018," UIDAI CEO Ajay Bhushan Pandey was quoted as saying by PTI.  Aadhaar card is being used for identity authentication across banks, telecom companies, public distribution system, income tax among others.

On an average,  4 crore authentications are being done on a daily basis. Pandey in his presentation to the Supreme Court, said that 1,696.38 crore. Aadhaar authentications and 464.85 crore eKYC transactions have been performed so far. Pandey told the apex court that the proposed face authentication feature will be introduced by July 1. "Face authentication as an additional modality will be used in 'fusion mode' along with fingerprint/iris/OTP and will be available from July 1, 2018", UIDAI said  in a statement.

1.    Face ID will provide choice to create inclusive authentication
2.    Photograph of face will not be required as it is already there in UIDAI database.
3.   Face authentication (Face ID) will be allowed in 'fusion mode' with one more identification. 
4.     The fingerprint identification will still be there
