Reliance Industries AGM 2018: Mukesh Ambani says 'Golden Decade' rolls on, announces Jio Giga Fiber
Peaking at the RIL AGM meet Chairman Mukesh Ambani said that Reliance Industries is rolling forward and achieving massive success in its various projects especially Reliance Jio. He said JioPhone has taken country by storm. Have 25 million JioPhone users in India.
Mukesh Ambani then invited Isha Ambani and Akash Ambani on stage. Akash added further details. He said, "Your home will have wall-to-wall Wi-Fi coverage, every appliance, plug point, switch will become smart. You can have cameras giving you 24x7 security monitoring, alerts."
Isha Ambani, on her part, said, "Gone are the days of Mbps, now it will be about Gbps: Isha Ambani."

Ambani also revealed the next stage of his ambition. He said, "What comes next is broadband connectivity. India lags in fixed line broadband. Poor infra key reason. Other countries are ahead of India. Data connection happens indoors in these countries. Fixed line broadband is future. It offers gigabits of data at huge speeds. Reliance will offer this in coming years. RIL has invested massively here to ensure largest fiber footrprint ever. Will roll it out to the public and it will impact from small traders to large corporates."
He revealed what this entails. Ambani said, "For individuals' homes, this means Ultra HD for TV, voice activated virtual assistants, virtual reality e-shopping. It will be an entirely new, immersive experience.
He pointed out, "We will now extend fiber connectivity to homes, merchants, small and medium enterprises and large enterprises simultaneously across 1,100 cities to offer the most advanced fiber-based broadband connectivity solutions."
Ambani added, "For homes this means...
* Ultra high-definition entertainment on large screen TVs
* Multi-party video conferencing from your living room
* Voice-activated virtual assistants
* Virtual reality gaming, digital shopping, immersive experiences"

Ambani indicated what fixed-line broadband means for merchants and small businesses, by saying, "When you combine fixed-line connectivity with the agility and customer obsession of a small owner-driven business you empower them to compete on level terms with larger businesses."
Ambani also revealed what it means for large enterprises. He said, "Having the ability to compete in the global marketplace, using digital tools and techniques that are powering the Fourth Industrial Revolution."
He said, "We are calling this fiber based broadband service JioGiga Fiber."
Earlier, Mukesh Ambani started his speech by saying, "As our Golden Decade rolls on, our consumer businesses will contribute nearly as much to the overall earnings of your company as our energy and petrochemical businesses."
